I have not been on for a while........I guess not much has happened since the end of August! YA RIGHT! So keep reading!!! There are a lot of 'small' memories, but my memories nonetheless.
Taylan played with the Kearns Little League football team. They did not do well this year as a team, but I have seen amazing growth in Taylan as a player and team mate.
Andi and Brenaya signed on as cheerleaders for the league; Janalise, however, was jealous to watch them and could not stay away. I made her a copy cat uniform and she even learned some of the moves!!!! It was SOOOO cute to watch them together. They had a blast performing during the half time and holding large banners for the players to run through.
Sept 14-David and I celebrated our 13th Wedding Anniversary. We had a wonderful dinner and went to a show. I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband who has done so much for me and our family these past 13 years! I love you, babe!
Sept 19-I keep progressing with the Family History calling! I have been to a couple of meetings and participated in the fair that was hosted in our stake.
Sept 26-Went shopping in Park City's Tanger outlet stores, we bought ALOT of things and had a great day with the kids. Taylan had a game in South Summit (they lost). We went out to dinner at Subway and headed to the circus!
The Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey circus hit Utah! We went early and had a great time at the pre-performance show. They had the animals on display, Janalise LOVED the "zeba" Brenaya was amazed with the elephants, Andi loved the ponies, while Taylan had fun with the tigers. Indoors, they had performers in mini-shows, dress-up dressing rooms with old costumes and animal performances. The circus was fantastic!
Sept 28-I have been searching for a friend of mine from HS who was one of my bridesmaids and FINALLY I have found her on facebook. She lives ALL THE WAY ACROSS.........the street, 3 blocks away and I have not seen her in 13 years! We had a fabulous dinner together where I met her husband and 2 boys.

Primary
I first served as the primary 2nd counselor to an amazing woman, moved into the 1st counselor under the same president and a few months later I was called to be the president. I have been in primary for almost 5 years. Two weeks ago I was called into the Bishop's office, where I was told I was being released as the Primary President...I cried. I tried to not show too much emotion during sharing time that day, but the children singing made it hard.
The following day, I had a knock at my door, it was a member of the ward. She stopped by to ask for some reading material for being a primary president. I was so excited to find out that she would be taking over. I invited the soon-to-be president to my home for 'training.' I sat with her and talked her through the information I had. When she left with 'my' binder I sat in tears.
Saturday night I dreamed of my final Sunday in primary. I woke up in tears. Sunday morning came as I prepared my final sharing time lesson, I cried. When the bishop announced my name over the pulpit to release me, I cried. When my counselor talked about the children and primary during her sacrament talk, I cried. When I said my goodbyes to the children, I couldn't even talk. We had the YM and YW in primary with us for a special lesson and to see them grown was an incredible feeling, they were the ones who I started out with. To have all 'my children' in one room at a time was a special feeling that I can't ever explain. To be able to tell them how much I have loved teaching them and to let them know how special they are! I couldn't help but to cry. I cried all the way home.
Primary has been such a special calling for me. I never really attended as a child so to experience it as an adult was extra wonderful. I know the bishop received guidance from the Lord and my new calling will be a challenge for sure...... The family history consultant!

Happy Birthday ANDI
August 10, 1999 our first daughter was born at Cottonwood Hospital. I was woken up at 2:00 AM with contractions and woke David up at 3:00. We made the important phone calls to grandparents and headed to the hospital. Our beautiful, Shandilynn, arrived in my arms at 7:55 AM.
Ten years later, we celebrate with dinner and a volcano ice cream at IHOP. She got Hannah Montana World Tour Wii game, Hannah blanket and Hannah lunch bag. Andi and Brenaya had a water fight while trying to wash the van. Then laid out on the drive way. Played with friends and had a snack picnic. We have a party planned later this month for her friends.
Andi is such a warm spirited person who loves nature and animals. She is very sensitive and dramatic. She enjoys reading, writting and making up stories and songs. She loves to sing and dance to her favorite artists, Hannah, Jonas Brothers and Selina Gomez.

Thomas Family Reunion 2009
The annual Thomas family reunion was held from July 26th-29th @ Pineview Reservoir. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, set up camp, had dinner and sat around the fire. Most of David's family was able to join us, Eldon/Linda and family, Vickie/Dorain and family, Kim/Rochelle and family, Kerry/Irene and family, Merlin/Adrienne and family, Jerrod/Angela and family. Jayme/Sabine and girls live in CA and could not make it and Jennifer/Pete and family had kids starting school this week and didn't want to forgo the first week of school.
Monday was great fun, we headed down to the beach and swam for most of the day. I was sitting on the beach with the baby for most of the time. I am not a cold water swimmer!!!! But I did get antsy when I saw the brothers launching everyone in the air. I laid the sleeping baby in the play pen and ran out into the water! The boys launched me and I returned to my days as a dancer, I did a toe touch in mid-air before splashing into the cold water below! The second launch was not as successful because the boys forgot how to count!?!?!? I landed on the back, ouch! Andi was tossed into the air as well and laughed going in, coughed coming up! Taylan enjoyed playing water wars with his cousins and Brenaya loved splashing around. Janalise is definitely a water-child she went in running and came out shivering but crying!
Monday night was the Luau, we enjoyed marinated chicken with fruit, rice and rolls. I put together the games and activities for the evening. I found a web page that shows how to translate names from English to Hawaiian; the Hawaiian language only has 13 constants and 5 vowels. Prior to the reunion I translated all 65 family members names and created a game where everyone had to guess which Hawaiian name belonged to which family member. The kids were sent on a treasure hunt using the story of the first luau. A hula hoop contest and limbo bar made for a fun filled night. Original Hawaiian games were set up for everyone to enjoy and the big finale was a hula performed by the grand-daughters, a title IV dance by the grand-sons and the brothers performed the Haka dance. We had a lot of fun!
Tuesday brought more swimming and just sitting back on the beach, a volleyball tournament and horseshoe tournament. Hot dog roast and S'mores.
Wednesday we packed up the camp and just hung around until check out time. The guys finished a game of horseshoes and the girls loved the hula hoops and volleyball court sand!
What a great weekend...........I will try to download pics from David's phone later tonight!

The Backstage Story
Back in April I won 2 tickets through KBUL 93 to go see Josh Gracin and Darryl Worley. I was totally excited and gave them to David as a part of his Easter gift. Well on Monday, KBUL was having a contest to find the best story of persons who won 2nd place. I just so happen to have 'won' my husband being in second place. My friend and I were at a Dee's restaurant when we noticed 2 cowboys sitting in a booth across the room. We introduced ourselves and invited them to go watch a movie with us. My friend and I played rock, paper, scissors to see who would get to ride with the tall, cute cowboy. I lost! We went to watch movies and were out way too late. My friend and the tall, cute cowboy dated each other for about 2 weeks when he called me and asked if I wanted to hang out with him because my friend was a little crazy!!! End of story we have been together for over 14 years!!!
Anyway, I didn't win the KBUL contest, I took 2nd place. Which was actually the winner of 4 tickets to the concert and 2 backstage passes!

The Concert
We picked up our neighbor and friends, Don & Cynthia Anderson at 4:00 PM and meet up with my brother in law, Kim and his wife, Rochelle. We drove to Saratoga Springs and found a little Mexican Grill restaurant, La Lago. Enjoyed a good meal, I had the pork chimi and David had the Southwest Plate with enchilada, taco and burrito.
We were cutting time close I had to be to the KBUL kiosk @ 7:00 PM to get my backstage passes, we made it! I received my passes from Coyote McCoy and was told to meet them down by the stage @ 7:20. Megan Mullins was the header was we listened to her. We went down and was guided back stage where we meet Josh Gracin! Very handsome, polite and sweet! We had him sign a CD insert and our backstage passes. We got a picture with him and several of him. We also were able to meet Megan, she signed a couple of pics for us and we took a picture with her as well. We were told to come back @ 8:20 PM to meet Darryl Worely.
Josh Gracin came on stage right at 8:20, as we stood in line waiting for the PR to come get us we enjoyed listening to him up close and got some great shots! He played a number of current songs and also played a new song that was just recorded.
We were guided back, stood in line and waited for him to exit his trailer. We could hear Josh from the backstage area but could not see him. In the mean time Darryl Worley's PR was walking around letting everyone know that we would get one autograph and could have our picture taken with him. He noticed the 2 girls behind us, who did NOT dress for the weather, asked if they were cold and turn away. They laugh and said yes, we turned and were talking with them when Darryl Worley came out and gave them a comforter to share. He reminded them he needed it back when they got to the front of the line and walked away! I took a picture of the girls and they started to make phone calls!
Darryl Worely is 6 foot 6 inches, I told David it will be nice to have a picture with everyone in the same frame! We had our picture taken with him and he signed out backstage passes. He was very sweet and commented on my eyes! He talked about his daughter and his wife for a minute and we left. I got some great up close shots of him backstage. We returned to our seats and finished the Josh Gracin concert.
The night was a tribute to the military and they had ALOT of stories and videos and speakers in between shows. It was great, don't get me wrong, but it was ALOT! Everyone was cold and wanted to show to go on!!!!
Finally, Darryl Worely came out and performed a lot of his patriotic songs. We enjoyed his show. They were to have a fireworks display, but I could not handle the cold and longer so I asked if we could leave. David wanted to stay but I headed to the car with Don and Cynthia. We were able to see the fireworks, but missed Darryl coming back on stage to perform 'Have you forgotten'
I had a great time and enjoyed spending time with great friends and family!

Taylan's 12th Birthday
Happy Birthday to Taylan!!!!
Today he celebrates his 12th birthday! How proud we are of the young man he has become! He gets to participate in mutual nights, including scout outings and YM basketball!! But most exciting of all, he will receive the Aaronic Priesthood next Sunday! Yesterday, we talked again about the responsibilities he will have with the priesthood, most of which he thinks is pretty cool! He has passed of his Faith in God (in an interview by the best primary president in the World ;) YA Right!)
We like to go out for birthday dinner but because David left for Woodbadge today (look for upcoming BLOG) and then Sunday, we went out on Friday night. We had a school activity at Classic Skate on Friday night, so Taylan chose the Sizzler on 90th and State. We enjoyed dining with Coach Jerry Sloan, ok not so much WITH him, but he was 3 tables away from us. Coach complimented David on his Jazz hat, Andi received a smile and a pat on the back at the salad bar and we all wished him good luck in the playoffs as we left the restaurant. Taylan was pretty excited, he called his friends up to tell them.
We ALWAYS celebrate with a family party, so last night, we enjoyed cake & ice cream for his birthday with Gma Nae, Gpa John & Joni, Aunt Teresa, Uncle Chad & Jastyn, Aunt Tonya, Christian & Lexi Jo. Gpa Merlin & Gma Debbie, Uncle Jon, Tracy, Austin and Tristian were unable to make it!!! Taylan was really excited about his presents. We got him a football, a Star Wars Clone Wars Lego Spaceship and a Deron Williams Jersey! Gpa John & Joni gave him cash (the best thing in the world for a YM) He spent the money today on a Bionicles WII game!
All in all, he had a great birthday! We love you, son!!!
